By
way of explanation. The
term 'home business' consists of two words.
'Business' is the second one; it's there to
qualify and support the word 'home' and all
that goes with it - and not vice versa. Consequently,
we also list below, items which are of interest
and value to the home. Whether in its context
as an office or as a part of your family and
lifestyle but always
directed at the improved prospects and enjoyment
that running a business from home, in its entirety,
can bring.

Tax payments deferred due to coronavirus outbreak.
The
Government has announced measures to defer tax
payments to minimise the impact of the coronavirus
outbreak. VAT payments will be deferred by three
months until the end of June 2020. Self-assessment
tax payments will be deferred by six months
so payments due on 31 July 2020 will not now
be payable until 31 January 2021. Businesses
will also be able to apply for a three-month
extension for filing their accounts with Companies
House.

The

could be reduced by three quarters if it was
kept for the first million of a business sale

reports that the Chancellor is considering scrapping
entrepreneurs' relief in the Budget. The FSB
claims that scrapping entrepreneurs' relief
would destroy the retirement plans of thousands
of business owners and has proposed that it

million. This could save the Treasury more than
£1 billion and maintain an incentive that
encourages entrepreneurs to start-up, hire and
invest.

Government campaign to promote business support.
https://www.gov.uk/government/news/government-launches-new-business-support-campaign
The
Department for Business has launched a new campaign
to help firms across England access support
to start and grow their businesses. The new
Business Support website includes a directory
of all government-backed support schemes, which
are divided into four areas: finance and business
planning, exporting, leadership and talent,
and innovation and technology. As part of the
campaign, government support will also be advertised
across a range of media including radio, newspapers
and social media.
Does
this mean the Tory regime has moved on from
its brownshirts and fake gurus which were used
to dismantle the previous business support infrastructure
in the first place?

The
Government has announced a range of support
including grants and business rates relief for
businesses in areas affected by recent storms.
Businesses in West Yorkshire, Cumbria, Nottinghamshire,
Leicestershire, Derbyshire, Shropshire, Telford
and Wrekin, Worcestershire and Herefordshire
that have been affected by flooding are eligible
for support. The support includes Business Recovery
Grants, which provide up to £2,500 along
with 100% business rates relief. Businesses
can also apply for up to £5,000 to help
them become more resilient to future flooding.
